Silent water is a series from Chikara Umihara, a photographer that came to New York in 2006 to pursue his interest in photography. Formerly, he was a practitioner of martial arts for over 15 years. He earned his BA in literature from Waseda University in Tokyo, in 2000; was the 2010 Hot Shot, and was also selected for the Present Tense competition exhibition at Photo Center NW in Seattle.
And he’s enrolled in the Hartford Art School MFA Photography program and is a way cool guy.
